The Letter of James is written to Jewish Christians who were outside the city of Jerusalem. James is writing to help them as they face many trials. In these verses we learn that we ought to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. This is particulary relevant to the current culture were being angry is in fashion. We live in an age of rage. In this passage of Scripture we find instruction to not only help us when angry but also instruction that will save our souls.
